Stand together
The original Chords starts with D# I just used E here to make it easier for the beginners, just move back 1 frit to use original.

ReplyDeleteAnd the link for the video does not work. It should be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T0HWO8yQAI
ReplyDeleteTypo - "frit" should be "fret". Anyway, a basic guitarist using open string E chords can't drop them a fret. If you really want D#, why not put the chords in D capo+1? Then there is room to drop a fret! That applies to bass players as well.
I tried to play it in church today, unfortunately in E instead of E-flat - whoops. Wish I had practiced farther up the fingerboard, so changing key would have been easier. Anyway, the chords for the last line of the chorus should be C B-flat E-flat, not C A-flat B-flat as shown in the music! It's good you guys published the chords, but doing it in E instead of E-flat, or D capo+1, was a really daft idea for guitarists or bass players.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know your page does say the "original" key was "D-sharp". But I didn't realise that referred to the YouTube video I found. It could have meant an original video that was since changed. The key wasn't obvious but maybe that was the fault of my ears. Apologies for going on about it - I'm still recovering from making a mess of playing along to the video in front of a large congregation.
DeleteBrian seems like a handful lol :)
